Persian: The Persian cat breed is one of the oldest cats around. They are longhaired cats with beautiful shinny coats. They are very soft and friendly; however, they are prone to health problems such as allergies. The Persian does not always play as much as other breeds, but they do enjoy a bit of fun for exercise especially in a social situation. They love to have other cats around to play with as well as have a lap available when they are in need of a lap. Persians are a variety of colors from solid black, white or a mix of white and browns around the face. A popular Persian is the Himalayan.
What can they learn? Lots of times you saw little kittens playing alone or with each other, as cats are hunters this love of play helps them to learn how to stalk, capture and kill prey. They like to play with balls, pieces of rope or any other things which are moving. Hunting instincts direct their motions. They can be trained some simple commands and some cats even can lean to manipulate simple mechanisms; to open the door hanging on the door handle. Cats are considered to be the cleanest pets and it is one of the reasons why they are so popular. They groom themselves by licking their fur and can be taught to use a special place for a cat toilet. To keep such an animal home you have to teach the cat how to hook its front claws into a specially made surface in order to clean the claws and stretch their muscles. Otherwise it can find the surface for scratching by itself and it may be your favorite armchair. Cats often damage furniture if they are not taught in time. Remember that even declawed cats will go through scratching routines because scratching is effectively a part of marking territory. Though cats are very independent animals but once you decided to have a cat pet you always have to keep in mind that you are responsible for this little lovely fur creature.
Why did I choose him? Firstly, he was the most confident of all the kittens in the cage. This was very important as I do have a (well-mannered) Chihuahua at home and he would have to be able to hold his own with her. Secondly, the kitten I went in originally to see didn’t have as sleek and shiny a coat as the one I chose. You can tell a lot by the coat of a cat. The original kitten perhaps didn’t know how to bathe itself, or was possibly not as healthy as the one I chose. Lastly, I really liked the way my kitten looked. He is creamy and ginger and has the most amazing light greeny yellow eyes. He is almost a cat now, and quite a handful. We don’t have any problems with him and the Chihuahua and he is in excellent health with all vaccinations and worming taken care of.
